Kerala Trip Cost from Ahmedabad 2026: 5–7 Days from ₹16,999

A 5 to 7 day Kerala trip from Ahmedabad costs from ₹16,999 per person on our Varkala beach trip and from ₹17,999 to ₹34,999 on our other trips with return flights, while our Alleppey houseboat honeymoon trip is ₹44,999 without flights (prices checked 16 Oct 2026). A private houseboat day on the Alleppey backwaters adds ₹5,999 per person.
Five of our six Kerala trips include return flights from Ahmedabad to Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram, stays with daily breakfast and an AC vehicle for transfers. The houseboat honeymoon trip starts in Kochi with a car and driver throughout, and we can add flights to the same quote. GST and TCS are shown in your written quote; TCS applies only to trips abroad, so a Kerala quote shows GST alone.
Prices checked 16 Oct 2026 from our live trip pages. Seasons checked with Kerala Tourism (keralatourism.org) and the India Meteorological Department in October 2026.
How much does a Kerala trip from Ahmedabad cost?
Our six Kerala trips, per person, as listed on 16 Oct 2026:
| Our trip | Length | From (per person) | Flights from Ahmedabad | Where you stay |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Varkala Cliff & Beach Reset | 5 days, 4 nights | ₹16,999 | Included | A cliff-view stay at Varkala |
| Munnar–Thekkady Hill Circuit | 5 days, 4 nights | ₹17,999 | Included | Munnar, then Thekkady |
| Kerala Monsoon Magic | 6 days, 5 nights | ₹19,999 | Included | Kochi, Athirappilly, a houseboat, Marari |
| Kerala: Backwaters & Slow Mornings | 5 days, 4 nights | ₹21,999 | Included | A houseboat night, then Munnar |
| Kerala Ayurveda Reset | 7 days, 6 nights | ₹34,999 | Included | A beach resort on the Kovalam coast |
| Kerala: Houseboat and Hills | 5 days, 4 nights | ₹44,999 | Not included | Kochi, a private houseboat, Munnar |
The spread comes from what each trip adds. The Ayurveda trip lists a physician consultation, daily abhyanga, two shirodhara sessions, twice-daily yoga and sattvic meals. The honeymoon trip has a private houseboat night with full board, Kathakali tickets and a car with driver throughout, but no flights. Varkala and Munnar–Thekkady are the simplest: one coast or one set of hills, with breakfast and transfers.
What do the Munnar, Alleppey and Varkala trips include?
Munnar and Thekkady, ₹17,999
A dawn walk in the tea gardens with a tea factory visit, Top Station for the view into Tamil Nadu, a spice plantation walk with a planter, a Kathakali and Kalaripayattu evening, and bamboo rafting on Periyar lake, with the standard lake cruise for anyone who would rather not paddle. The drive from Kochi to Munnar is about four hours, and Munnar to Thekkady about four more.
Alleppey and Munnar, ₹21,999
The Backwaters & Slow Mornings trip boards a private houseboat at Alleppey on day one, with all meals on board that day and a canoe detour into village canals the next morning. Then it climbs to Munnar for a dawn tea walk, the tea museum, Top Station, a spice garden and a Kathakali evening. Breakfast is daily, with two dinners. Lunches outside the houseboat day are extra.
Varkala, ₹16,999
Four nights on the north cliff at Varkala, an hour from Thiruvananthapuram airport: sunrise yoga, a beginner surf lesson, a canoe afternoon to Golden Island through a quieter arm of the backwaters, and the Janardanaswamy temple. The cliff path is flat, and the beach is reached by steps.
Monsoon Magic, ₹19,999
This one is built for June to September, the months its trip page gives: Athirappilly falls in full flow, a houseboat night with all meals and rain on the roof, a Kalaripayattu display and a last day at Marari beach.
Which Kerala trips include flights from Ahmedabad?
Varkala, Munnar–Thekkady, Monsoon Magic, Backwaters & Slow Mornings and the Ayurveda Reset all include return flights from Ahmedabad. Most fly into Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram depending on the trip; Backwaters & Slow Mornings flies Ahmedabad to Kochi and back.
Kerala: Houseboat and Hills is priced from Kochi without flights, so you can use airline miles or travel from another city. We can add Ahmedabad flights to the same quote. Its listed exclusions are flights, meals not stated, Ayurveda treatments and camera fees.
How much does a houseboat day add?
Alleppey: A Day With the Engine Off is ₹5,999 per person. It is a private houseboat with crew for your group: you board around 11am, eat a Kerala lunch and afternoon tea on board, stop at a canal village for coir-making and toddy-tapping demonstrations, and are back before sunset. Boat permits are included; transfers to the Alleppey jetty and alcohol are not, and an overnight stay can be added.
| Combination | From (per person) |
|---|---|
| Munnar–Thekkady plus a houseboat day | ₹23,998 |
| Varkala plus a houseboat day | ₹22,998 |
| Backwaters & Slow Mornings, overnight houseboat already in | ₹21,999 |
If the backwaters matter most, Backwaters & Slow Mornings works out cheaper than adding a day boat to the hills trip, because the houseboat night is already in the price. The day boat suits Varkala or the hills when you want one day on the water without a night on board.
The lunch on board is typically fish, such as karimeen fry. Tell us if you need a vegetarian or Jain lunch, and we confirm it with the boat before you pay.
Which months suit Kerala, and what is monsoon Kerala like?
Kerala Tourism (keralatourism.org, checked October 2026) describes two monsoons: the southwest monsoon from June to September and the northeast monsoon from October to December. It calls November to February the peak season for pleasant weather, October to February the best time for houseboat cruises, and November to February pleasant in Munnar and Thekkady.
The India Meteorological Department's press release of 16 Oct 2026 expects a wet spell with heavy falls over south peninsular India until 22 Oct 2026, with isolated heavy rain over Kerala, so trips in the second half of October should plan for rain.
| Months | What to expect | Our trip for it |
|---|---|---|
| June to September | Southwest monsoon: heavy rain, green hills, fewer crowds | Kerala Monsoon Magic |
| October to December | Northeast monsoon showers | Backwaters & Slow Mornings |
| November to February | Kerala Tourism's peak season; hills pleasant | Munnar–Thekkady, Houseboat and Hills |
| March to May | Off-peak; Kerala Tourism says it suits budget travellers | Varkala Cliff & Beach Reset |
Monsoon Kerala is not a washout. Our Monsoon Magic trip page describes the rain arriving hard and then clearing, so the days are planned between showers: Athirappilly at its fullest, quiet backwaters, and a houseboat with the doors open. Our trip pages also note that the sea at Marari is not for swimming in the monsoon, and that Munnar is cold at night from December to February, so pack a jacket for parents and children.
For Christmas and New Year dates, compare Kerala with other options in our places to visit in India in December guide.
What does a couple or a family of four pay?
Multiply the per-person price by the number of travellers. These totals are before GST, and children are priced in your quote by age and bed.
| Who is travelling | Trip | Total from |
|---|---|---|
| Couple | Varkala Cliff & Beach Reset, 5 days | ₹33,998 |
| Couple | Backwaters & Slow Mornings, 5 days | ₹43,998 |
| Couple | Houseboat and Hills, 5 days, without flights | ₹89,998 |
| Four adults | Munnar–Thekkady Hill Circuit, 5 days | ₹71,996 |
| Four adults | Backwaters & Slow Mornings, 5 days | ₹87,996 |
| Four adults | Munnar–Thekkady plus a houseboat day | ₹95,992 |
A 5-day trip starting on a Friday uses three days of leave, which makes Kerala a good fit for a long weekend with one or two extra days.
Is Kerala easy with elderly parents and vegetarian food?
Yes, with the right trip. For parents, our trip pages describe the Munnar–Thekkady tea walks as gentle, with a lake cruise in place of the bamboo raft; the Ayurveda trip as paced around rest; and the houseboat day as seated on a shaded deck with almost no walking, though it stays hot and humid. At Varkala, the cliff path is flat but the beach means steps down and back up. The ghat road up to Munnar is winding and takes a few hours, so bring something for motion sickness.
For vegetarian families, Kerala Tourism recommends sadya, the traditional Kerala feast, to vegetarian visitors. The Ayurveda trip's meals are sattvic and vegetarian. Houseboat cooks often make fish, so ask in advance. For Jain meals, with no onion, garlic or root vegetables, give us the details when you enquire, and we check each included meal with the hotel or boat before you pay.
