Longtail boat among the limestone karsts of Krabi

How we plan

Anatomy of a trip

Most travel sites show you the finished itinerary and hope you don't ask why. This is one real, bookable journey — Thailand: Islands & Street-Food Nights — taken apart decision by decision, including the ones that cost us margin and the people we'd turn away.

The brief we started from

Every trip we build starts as a few sentences from a real person. This one — a composite of the briefs we get most often for Thailand — is what the itinerary below is answering.

  • Two people, first international trip together, seven days in November.
  • Budget around ₹60,000 each, flights included.
  • “Beaches, but we get bored lying still.”
  • One of them doesn’t swim. Neither wants a 6am coach every morning.

Six decisions that shaped it

None of these are visible on a normal package page. All of them change the week.

  1. 01

    Two bases, not five

The instinct on a seven-day Thailand trip is to chase everything: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, three islands. You spend the week checking out of hotels. We based this one twice — Phuket Old Town, then Krabi — and reached everything else by boat. Two unpackings instead of five.

  2. 02

The boat day goes on day three

Not day one. Jet lag plus open water is how people spend the best day of their trip feeling ill. Day three also leaves a spare day on either side, so if the sea is rough we move it without breaking anything else.

  3. 03

Private longtail, not the group ferry

The shared island ferry is cheaper and arrives at the famous beaches exactly when every other ferry does. A private longtail costs more and buys the two things that actually matter: leaving at 7am ahead of the crowd, and turning back early when someone has had enough sun.

  4. 04

    Day five stays empty

The most common regret we hear isn’t a missed sight — it’s that the trip never slowed down. Day five has one optional add-on and otherwise nothing in it. If the week has been perfect, it becomes a beach day. If it has been intense, it becomes the recovery you needed.

  5. 05

Because one of them doesn’t swim

This is the line in the brief that changed the most. The cliff jump becomes genuinely optional rather than a group moment someone sits out. Snorkelling runs from a boat with a guide in the water, not off a crowded pontoon. The lagoon stop is one you can wade into.

  6. 06

    Fly home in the evening

A dawn departure costs you the entire last day and usually a night’s sleep. An evening flight buys a final slow morning — the part of a trip people describe most often when they get back.

What the week actually looks like

The same day-by-day you'll find on the trip page — repeated here so you can hold it against the reasoning above.

  1. Day 1

    The Break

Fly Ahmedabad → Phuket (via BKK). Private airport pickup, check-in, and a first dinner by the water while your captain walks you through the week.

  2. Day 2

Old Town & the Long Table

Slow morning. Old Town Phuket walk, a street-food crawl with a local chef, and one long unhurried dinner. Nothing scheduled after it.

  3. Day 3

    Into the Karsts

Longtail boats into the limestone islands. Jade lagoons, hidden beaches, and the cliff jump if you want it. Cold water, long afternoon, nowhere to be.

  4. Day 4

    Islands Without Names

Second boat day to quieter islands. Snorkelling, beach cricket, nothing scheduled after 3pm on purpose.

  5. Day 5

    Fire on the Sand

Free day (dive add-on available), then the night people remember: a private stretch of beach, a bonfire, lanterns and a live acoustic set — just your group.

  6. Day 6

    Slow Goodbye

Beach morning, massage block, sunset viewpoint. Last supper with awards night — every traveler leaves with a title.

  7. Day 7

    The Return

Sunrise send-off, then fly home with a camera roll you'll be sending people for months.

Who this one isn't for

A trip that suits everyone suits nobody. If you're on this list, say so and we'll build something else — or tell you honestly that another agency fits better.

  • Anyone who wants to see Bangkok properly — this route skips it. Say so and we rebuild around the north.
  • Party-first travellers. This isn’t a Patong itinerary, and we’d be the wrong agency to pretend otherwise.
  • Trips under five days. Thailand punishes a rushed itinerary more than most places.

Yours would be planned the same way.

Different brief, same method — two questions about how you like to travel, then a route built around the answers.
