Spiritual tours in India
Start with the place that matters most to you. Compare nights, walking and access before requesting a quote for your dates.
Travelling within India
Compare the nearest gateway and the overnight stops. If an early start, stairs or another hotel change would make the trip difficult, mention that when you enquire.
Arriving from overseas
Ask for time between your international arrival and the first shrine visit. Tell us your preferred guiding language. Where admission is restricted, ask what each person in your party can see instead.
Where to start
- Fewer than five nights for Kashi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya? Pick one or two cities. Compare the overnight stops on the full three-city route.
- Want one hotel for two shrine days? Compare Dakor and Pavagadh from a Vadodara base.
- Some of your party may not enter the shrine? See the Puri route with an exterior heritage option.
- Prefer a Buddhist circuit entirely within India? Follow the route from Bodh Gaya without a Nepal border crossing.
- Need to know who books which services? See what we can arrange in Katra and what you book with the Shrine Board.
How a quote works. These are proposed routes. Your written quote should specify rooms, transfers, guiding, tickets, meals, taxes and cancellation terms. A shrine decides admission; a hotel or car booking does not reserve a ritual. Flights and trains are separate unless listed in your quote.

Tirupati and Tirumala: A Two-Night Pilgrim Stay
Stay in Tirupati on both nights, with one day set aside for the hill journey to Tirumala. The hotel and road plan can be quoted around your official darshan arrangements.
Choose this if Tirumala is the reason for the trip and you can leave time for queues. If a particular entry slot is essential, confirm that first. If you don’t have an acceptable entry arrangement, change the date rather than buy the trip expecting a ticket.

Kamakhya on Nilachal Hill: a Guwahati pilgrimage
Keep one base in Guwahati for two nights and give Kamakhya its own day. This is for travellers who want to visit Nilachal Hill, without adding a wildlife safari or a long transfer to Meghalaya.
For a shrine visit, ask for an ordinary open date. Ambubachi draws pilgrims to the hill but includes a period when the temple closes; attending the gathering and entering the shrine are different requests.

Bodh Gaya, Nalanda and Sarnath: Buddhist India
Trace three different parts of Buddhist history: monastic study at Nalanda, the Mahabodhi precinct at Bodh Gaya and the teaching tradition at Sarnath. Start in Patna and finish in Varanasi without crossing a border.
Choose this for time at the sites and two nights in Bodh Gaya. It is not a four-sacred-sites tour: Kushinagar and Lumbini are outside this itinerary. Ask for your preferred guide language before choosing travel dates.

Old Goa Churches: Bom Jesus and Sé Cathedral from Panaji
Spend two nights in Panaji with a day for the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Sé Cathedral in Old Goa. Make this a quiet church visit or an architecture walk; neither option needs a beach-resort itinerary.
Choose this for one unhurried day in Old Goa from a city hotel. A beach stay involves a different transfer and is not part of this plan. If the aim is Mass rather than sightseeing, confirm the parish programme before choosing dates.

Palitana: a day for Shatrunjaya Hill
Two nights in Palitana leave a full day for the temple hill, rather than fitting the ascent between long drives.
Choose this for the hill itself. If stairs are difficult, ask for a foothill visit before choosing this route; it is a different experience.

Ambaji and Gabbar Hill from Ahmedabad
A two-night Ambaji stay keeps the town shrine and the hill visit separate from the drives to and from Ahmedabad.
Choose this if you want time for one Shakti Peetha. The replicas around Gabbar are not visits to the original shrines across India.

Dakor and Pavagadh: two shrine days from Vadodara
Stay three nights in Vadodara and use separate days for Ranchhodrai Temple at Dakor and the hill shrine at Pavagadh. There is no hotel change between visits.
Choose this over the coastal Gujarat journey for two shrine visits from one inland base. The hill approach at Pavagadh is the deciding factor; someone skipping it can explore lower Champaner instead.

Katra stay for the Vaishno Devi yatra
A Katra hotel and ground-transfer planning option for travellers arranging their own official yatra. The Shrine Board controls registration, access and its services; Travelers Clan does not book these on your behalf.
Choose this if you want help with the journey to Katra while arranging the Shrine Board portion directly. It is unsuitable if you expect a guaranteed helicopter seat, aarti, Bhawan room or darshan.

Leh monasteries: Thiksey and Hemis from one base
Keep all nights in Leh and allow the first two days solely for settling in. Thiksey and Hemis each get their own day, without a detour over a high pass or an overnight beside Pangong Lake.
Choose this for monasteries rather than Nubra or Pangong scenery. A short weekend is a poor fit: the administration advises at least 48 hours' acclimatisation before starting high-altitude journeys.

Ujjain and Omkareshwar: two Jyotirlingas by road
Travel from Indore to Ujjain and Omkareshwar with a separate visiting day for each shrine.
Choose this over an Indore day trip if queues or long drives would otherwise force you to rush. Special aarti is a separate arrangement.

Sanchi from Bhopal: stupas and gateways
Two nights in Bhopal give you one unhurried day for the hilltop monuments at Sanchi.
Choose Sanchi for Buddhist art and architecture. Travellers principally seeking sites from the Buddha's life should compare the Bihar route.

Pandharpur: Vitthal temple and the Chandrabhaga
A Solapur gateway and two nights in Pandharpur for travellers whose main stop is the Vitthal-Rukmini temple.
This is a stay in the temple town. Choose a different plan if you intend to walk the Wari procession or need festival logistics.

Maharashtra Ashtavinayak: eight shrines from Pune
Begin and end the circuit at Morgaon, spreading the eight temples over a week with Pune as the gateway.
Choose the complete circuit if the traditional sequence matters. For less time on the road, request selected temples and describe it as a partial visit.

Shirdi and Trimbakeshwar via Nashik
Pair time at Shirdi with a Nashik base for Trimbakeshwar, without trying to visit both shrines on arrival day.
Choose this if both shrines matter. If you only want Shirdi, a second base may add driving without adding value.

Puri and Konark: Jagannath Pilgrimage or Temple Heritage
Start in Bhubaneswar, spend two nights in Puri and visit the Konark Sun Temple on a separate morning. Choose worship at Jagannath where admission permits, or a Puri heritage walk outside the temple.
Choose this route if different people in your party want different things from Puri. The heritage option has a full programme without shrine entry. For a pilgrimage focused on a festival or a particular ritual, ask for a separate plan.

Buddhist Odisha: Ratnagiri, Udayagiri and Lalitgiri
Use Bhubaneswar as one base for three nights. Divide the Buddhist monastic sites between two road excursions so you can spend time at the ruins without visiting all three in a rush.
Choose this for monastery archaeology and stupas, not for a residential retreat or the places associated with the Buddha’s life in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. One hotel keeps packing simple but means travelling out and back on two days.

Amritsar: time at Sri Harmandir Sahib
Keep one Amritsar base for two nights and return to the Darbar Sahib complex at your own pace. The day centres on the living gurdwara, with the city's other sights left optional.
Suitable for a short stay built around the gurdwara, including a family reconnecting with Punjab or a first visit to Sikh heritage. This does not cross into Pakistan, include Kartarpur, or substitute for a multi-Takht pilgrimage.

Ajmer Sharif: two nights in the old city
A single base for the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, with time to return to the old city on your own terms.
Choose Ajmer if the dargah is the purpose of the trip. A Pushkar excursion is optional; it is not a substitute for time here.

Madurai and Rameswaram: Meenakshi and Ramanathaswamy
Start and end in Madurai, with two nights in Rameswaram between them. Keeping a separate day for each temple means the long road transfer need not double as a worship day.
Choose this if you want time at both shrines. The extra final night in Madurai is useful before an early train or flight. If the available holiday is shorter, ask for one temple base instead of moving the return drive to departure morning.

The Three Living Chola Temples: Thanjavur to Darasuram
See three separate UNESCO-listed temples: Brihadisvara at Thanjavur, Brihadisvara at Gangaikondacholapuram and Airavatesvara at Darasuram. Base the first two nights in Thanjavur and the last in Kumbakonam.
Choose this to compare the scale, carvings and setting of three Chola temples. For a dedicated worship visit at a single shrine, allow more time there instead. If changing hotels is difficult, ask for the longer drives from one base.

Velankanni: Two Nights by the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health
Break the journey with a night in Tiruchirappalli, then stay two nights in Velankanni. A whole day in the shrine town leaves room for worship without having to drive back immediately.
Choose this for time at one Catholic shrine, particularly if a service in your preferred language matters. A party arriving directly by rail near the shrine can ask for a shorter route. Feast travel needs a separate crowd and accommodation check.

Kashi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya by road
Start on the ghats of Varanasi, stop at the Sangam in Prayagraj and finish beside the Saryu in Ayodhya. Two nights in each of the first and last cities leave room to change plans around queues.
Choose this for all three cities and an open-ended departure from Ayodhya. With fewer than five nights, leave out a city instead of trying to reach two shrines on the same day.

Mathura and Vrindavan: a short Braj pilgrimage
Stay in one place for two nights and give Mathura and Vrindavan their own time. This is a short Krishna pilgrimage with temple lanes and room for worship, rather than the full Braj walking circuit.
A good fit if two nights and one hotel matter more than covering every shrine. Travellers wanting the full 84-kos parikrama should ask for a different route.

Haridwar and Rishikesh: two Ganga towns
Spend two nights in Haridwar and one in Rishikesh. There is time for Har Ki Pauri and Triveni Ghat without combining the foothills with a Himalayan shrine trek.
Choose the foothills if the river towns and short outings are the point of your trip. This is not Char Dham, a yoga course or a rafting holiday. Ghat steps and crowded approaches still matter.

Uttarakhand Char Dham: a seasonal four-shrine yatra
A proposed road-and-walking circuit from Haridwar to the four Himalayan shrines. The plan separates the two major walks, includes a spare mountain day and breaks up the return from Badrinath.
Only consider this if the party can allow roughly two weeks and flexibility on both ends. It is a poor choice for a short fixed holiday, or when the party needs a guaranteed helicopter, porter or visit on a specific day.

Gangasagar from Kolkata: Sagar Island and Kapil Muni
Start and finish in Kolkata, with two nights on Sagar Island. Splitting the river crossing from the Kapil Muni visit leaves time for the ferry and avoids a rushed same-day dash back to the city.
Choose an ordinary date for time on the island. The Makar Sankranti fair is a separate, crowded event with special arrangements. This route is a poor fit for a single-day connection or if boarding a ferry is unsuitable.
