Which day suits the desert safari, and which suits Burj Khalifa?

Keep them on separate days, and keep both away from your arrival and departure days.

The desert safari: a mid-trip afternoon

The evening safari picks you up from your hotel at 2:30, 3:00 or 3:30 pm and drops you back at around 9:30 pm, so it fills the second half of a day. The Desert & Sky page explains the timing: the dunes are too harsh at midday and right in the late afternoon, so the day starts late. Put it on day 3, after you have slept off the flight, and leave the morning empty. The page also says the camp gets cold after sunset, so carry one warm layer; the safari page asks you to carry a government photo ID.

Burj Khalifa: a sunset slot on its own evening

The Burj Khalifa page notes that sunset slots sell out days ahead and cost more, so tell us early if you want one. It also notes that haze is common and visibility is best from November to March. Book it for the evening of day 2 or day 4, and stay for the Dubai Fountain below: Emaar, which runs it, lists evening shows every 30 minutes from 6 pm to 11 pm, free to watch from the promenade (checked October 2026). Security is like an airport's and large bags are not allowed up.

The dhow cruise and The View

The dhow dinner, a three-hour evening with about ninety minutes on the water, fits the night before you fly. The View at the Palm is a two-hour visit that pairs with a beach day.

How do you slow the plan down for parents or small children?

Use the activities our pages mark as easy going, and keep one rest block every day.

ActivityFor elderly parentsFor small children
Burj KhalifaGood: the lift does the climb, level walking on the decksEasy; large bags not allowed
The View at the PalmGood: under a minute by lift, seating on a short walkEasy
Dhow dinner cruiseGood: seated throughout, a short step to boardEasy; evenings cool in winter
Gold and spice souk walkGood: flat lanes with stops, a seated abra rideFine in the late afternoon
Evening desert safariPossible: the dune drive is bumpy and the camp is on loose sand; not wheelchair-friendlyAsk for a gentler drive

The Family Funfest itinerary is already built this way: a deliberately late start on the desert day, and a gentler dune setting and an early return for small children, both on request. At Aquaventure the bigger slides carry their own height rules, checked at the ride. For parents, swap the full-day waterpark for a pool morning and The View, and keep the souks for the late afternoon, which the souk page recommends because the lanes are quiet and hot at midday.

Where do you find vegetarian and Jain food each day?

Breakfast is included every day on both trips, and Desert & Sky also includes the camp barbecue dinner. Lunches and other dinners are on your own, so plan them around each day's area.

  • Evening desert safari: the camp dinner includes vegetarian and Jain options if asked for in advance.
  • Dhow dinner cruise: the buffet has vegetarian and Jain options on request; the page asks you to tell us about Jain, vegan or allergy needs when you book, not on the night.
  • Other days: tell us about Jain needs when you enquire, so they are written into your quote and passed on wherever a meal is included.

If a parent eats only Jain food, give notice for the safari and the dhow nights in particular, as both pages ask.

What can you drop if you only have 4 days?

With 4 days and 3 nights, keep the two things nobody wants to miss, the desert and the Burj Khalifa at sunset, and drop the rest in this order:

  1. The free afternoon on day 4.
  2. The Old Dubai morning; if you would miss the souks, the 3-hour guided souk walk (₹1,799) fits into a late afternoon.
  3. On the family plan, the mall day: book the Burj Khalifa for one evening and the aquarium for a short morning instead.

Our two trips are priced for 5 days and 4 nights. A 4-day version is priced in your written quote for your dates.

Which visa do Indians need for a 5-day Dubai trip?

Both 5-day trips include the UAE visa, handled by us. For who qualifies for which visa, the documents and the timeline, read our Dubai visa guide for Indians. For a wider look at the city, see our Dubai destination guide.

FAQs

How much does a 5-day Dubai trip cost from India per person? From ₹48,999 per person on Dubai: Desert & Sky and from ₹58,999 on Dubai Family Funfest, both 5 days and 4 nights with return flights from Ahmedabad, 4-star hotels with breakfast and the UAE visa (prices checked 16 Oct 2026). GST and TCS are added in the written quote.

What is a good 5-day Dubai itinerary for a family? Arrive and see the Marina and the fountain, spend a full day at Atlantis Aquaventure, do the desert on day 3 at a gentler setting, then the aquarium and the Burj Khalifa on day 4, with a pool morning before the flight home on day 5.

Should the desert safari and Burj Khalifa be on the same day? No. The evening safari picks you up between 2:30 and 3:30 pm and drops you back at around 9:30 pm, so the Burj Khalifa needs its own evening, ideally on a sunset slot booked early.

Is Dubai suitable for elderly parents for 5 days? Yes, if the days are paced. The Burj Khalifa, The View at the Palm, the dhow dinner cruise and the souk walk are marked good for seniors on our pages; the desert safari is bumpy and on loose sand, so it suits parents with reasonable mobility.

Can we get Jain food in Dubai? The desert safari camp and the dhow dinner cruise offer vegetarian and Jain options if you ask in advance. On other days, tell us about Jain needs when you enquire so they are written into your quote.

How much do Dubai day trips cost? On our catalogue, from ₹1,799 per person for the gold and spice souk walk, ₹2,499 for The View at the Palm, ₹2,999 for the dhow dinner, ₹3,999 for the Burj Khalifa and ₹6,999 for the evening desert safari.
