Coorg Coffee Plantation Tour 2026: Estate Day from ₹2,499

A Coorg coffee plantation tour costs from ₹2,499 per person with us for a full day inside a working estate, with the walk, a tasting, a car and driver and Abbey Falls entry, and from ₹11,999 per person for a 3-day, 2-night estate weekend from Bengaluru (prices checked 16 Oct 2026). Go between February and April for the coffee blossom, or between November and February for the harvest.
The Coorg Coffee Trail weekend includes AC minibus transport from Bengaluru and back, an estate homestay with breakfast, all listed activities and entries, and a trip captain. Travel from Ahmedabad to Bengaluru is not included. GST is shown in your written quote; TCS applies only to trips abroad, so a Coorg quote shows GST alone.
Prices checked 16 Oct 2026 from our live trip pages. Blossom and harvest months checked with the Coffee Board of India, and Abbey Falls details with Karnataka Tourism, in October 2026.
What does a Coorg coffee plantation tour include?
Our estate day is spent inside a working plantation rather than a demonstration one. The morning walk explains what is growing: arabica and robusta under shade trees, with pepper vines trained up the trunks and cardamom below. You then see pulping, the drying yards and a roast, and taste the result. Abbey Falls comes around midday, and Raja's Seat in Madikeri for sunset over the valley.
The weekend trip puts you on the estate overnight: you arrive around sunrise and have the whole day there.
| What you get | Coffee estate day | Coorg Coffee Trail weekend |
|---|---|---|
| From (per person) | ₹2,499 | ₹11,999 |

Choose the Coorg estate day if you are already staying in Coorg and want one full day on a plantation. Choose the Coorg Coffee Trail if you are starting from Bengaluru and want the estate, the falls and Dubare in one weekend without driving yourself.
How much does a Coorg trip cost?

How do you reach Coorg from Ahmedabad?
Reach Bengaluru first, by flight or train, then let the trip take you the rest of the way. We don't print average fares, because they change with your dates.
The Coffee Trail leaves Bengaluru on Friday night in an AC minibus. You sleep through the drive and arrive on the estate around sunrise, then spend Saturday on the estate and Sunday morning at Dubare before the drive back. Pickup points in Bengaluru are shared on the trip group.
From Ahmedabad, that means reaching Bengaluru by Friday evening and flying or taking the train home on Sunday night or Monday. On a long weekend it can fit into one day of leave; otherwise plan for two.
When do the coffee plants flower, and when is the harvest?
Coorg grows both kinds of coffee, but mostly robusta. The Coffee Board of India lists about 56,000 hectares of robusta and 26,000 hectares of arabica in the district, at 750 to 1,100 metres, with pepper, cardamom, orange, banana and arecanut grown alongside (coffeeboard.gov.in, checked October 2026). The Board gives these months for coffee across India:
| Stage | Arabica | Robusta |
|---|---|---|
| Blossom showers (flowering) | March to April | February to March |
| Backing showers (fruit setting) | April to May | March to April |
| Harvest | November to January | December to February |
What that means for your dates
- Blossom: the white flowers open only after the first good shower, so the dates move every year. Our estate day page puts the Coorg blossom at roughly the first half of March, lasting about a week. If you want to see it, keep your dates flexible and tell us early.
- Harvest: from November to February you see cherries being picked and spread out to dry, and the estates are at their busiest.
- Monsoon: the estates are green and quiet, but the steps to Abbey Falls get slippery and there are leeches on the plantation paths. Socks help.
In October the harvest has not yet begun; by the Coffee Board's calendar it starts in November with arabica. For other ideas this month, see our list of places to visit in India in October.
What else can you see in Coorg in 2 or 3 days?
- Abbey Falls: Karnataka Tourism's page (karnatakatourism.org, checked October 2026) says the falls are about 6 km from Madikeri town and open from 9 am to 5 pm. Access is through private coffee plantations, a hanging bridge gives the view, bathing and swimming are not allowed, and parking is limited. Entry is included on both our Coorg trips.
- Raja's Seat: a small garden on the ridge at Madikeri where the Kodagu kings watched the sunset, and where the town still gathers in the evening.
- Dubare elephant camp: a forest department camp on the river, where the elephants are bathed rather than ridden. It is the Sunday morning of the Coffee Trail.
- Kodava food: the local cooking is known for pandi curry, which is pork. Vegetarian meals are easy to arrange, and for Jain food without onion, garlic or root vegetables, tell us when you book so we can ask the homestay in advance.
With elderly parents or children
For elderly parents, the estate day is the gentler choice: it is one day by car with a driver, so you set the pace and stay where you like. The Coffee Trail starts with an overnight minibus drive from Bengaluru, which not every older traveller finds restful, though you then stay at one homestay rather than changing hotels. On both trips, the walk to Abbey Falls has steps that turn slippery in the rain, so go slowly there. Children enjoy the drying yards and the elephant camp; keep an eye on them on the hanging bridge.
Can you add Mysore, Ooty or Hampi to a Coorg trip?
Yes. Each of these trips starts and ends in Bengaluru, so you can take them on one longer visit or on separate weekends, and we confirm the dates in your quote.
| If you add | What you get | Total from (per person) |
|---|---|---|
| Nandi Sunrise + City Day | Coorg weekend plus a Bengaluru day: Nandi Hills at sunrise, a benne dosa breakfast and Lalbagh | ₹14,498 |
| Hampi Time-Travel Weekend | Coorg plus the Vijayanagara ruins by cycle and coracle | ₹22,998 |
| Mysore–Ooty Royal Loop | Coorg plus Mysore Palace, a Nilgiri toy train section and an Ooty tea factory | ₹26,998 |
The Mysore–Ooty loop suits families with parents: its days mix gentle palace and market walks with a mountain drive and a short train ride. Hampi travels by overnight sleeper bus both ways and is best explored by cycle, so it suits couples and friends with some energy. The Nandi day starts with a 4 am pickup from your door, which is worth it for the sunrise.
