The story

This is the ride from the airport to your hotel, arranged before you fly, so that nobody in the family has to find a taxi with the suitcases and a sleepy child after the flight from Ahmedabad. The vehicle is for your group alone, and the price is for the whole vehicle, not per person: a 4-seater for a couple or a small family, a 7-seater for a larger family with luggage, a 12-seater for a big family or a group of friends. The operator prices it by zone, so the price depends on where in Dubai your hotel is.

What it feels like: you clear immigration, collect your bags and walk out into arrivals with your voucher on your phone. At Terminal 3, Dubai Airports runs a meeting point called DXB Greet & Go for guests with pre-booked tour-operator transfers, where a QR code brings up the assigned driver and vehicle; elsewhere your voucher tells you where the driver meets you. From there it is a straight drive to the hotel door with the air-conditioning on. It is not the exciting part of the trip; it is the part that makes the first evening easy.

Who this suits: the school-holiday family and the multigenerational group above all, because a pre-booked private vehicle with room for the luggage takes the strain out of a late arrival with grandparents and children; seniors travelling on their own, for the same reason; and the friends group or ladies-only group, who can share one 7 or 12-seater and split the cost of the vehicle among themselves.

How the transfer works

Your pickup time and meeting point are confirmed for your date.

  1. Send your captain your flight number, arrival time, terminal if you know it, hotel name, number of travellers and number of bags. The captain confirms your hotel's zone and the vehicle size with the operator, and shares the voucher with the meeting instructions.

  2. Clear immigration and collect your luggage. Follow the voucher to the meeting point; at Terminal 3 this may be the DXB Greet & Go kiosk in arrivals, where a QR code shows your driver and vehicle.

  3. The driver takes your group and your luggage straight to your hotel. The drive time depends on your zone and the traffic.
