Singapore Visa for Indians 2026: Fees, Documents and How to Apply

Singapore Visa for Indians 2026: Fees, Documents and How to Apply

Indian passport holders need a visa to visit Singapore, and you normally apply through an authorised visa agent appointed by a Singapore mission in India, never at the airport. From Gujarat, the Singapore Consulate-General in Mumbai charges a non-refundable visa fee of ₹2,100 and its agents add a fixed ₹1,300 service charge, so ₹3,400 per application, with processing in 3 to 5 working days (checked on the official mission and ICA pages, 12 Oct 2026).

Below are the documents, the fee at each mission, the free SG Arrival Card, and the visa-free transit rule that applies to some Indian travellers.

Do Indians need a visa for Singapore?

Yes. The visa requirements page of Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA, ica.gov.sg, checked 12 Oct 2026) lists India among the countries whose travel document holders need a valid Singapore visa. The Consulate-General in Mumbai adds that holders of ordinary Indian passports must apply before travelling, while official and diplomatic passport holders are exempt.

A visa is pre-entry permission, not a guarantee. ICA officers at the checkpoint decide whether you enter and how long you may stay. The one exception to the visa rule is the Visa-Free Transit Facility, covered further down.

Where do Indians apply for a Singapore visa?

ICA does not accept visa applications at the immigration counters. For Indian nationals there are two practical routes:

  1. Through an authorised visa agent (AVA) appointed by the Singapore mission for your state. The Consulate-General in Mumbai says it no longer accepts walk-in applications and only its authorised agents may submit applications online on your behalf. The High Commission in New Delhi and the Consulate-General in Chennai also work through their own lists of agents.
  2. Through a local contact in Singapore, a Singapore citizen or permanent resident aged at least 21 with a Singpass or Corppass account, who applies for you online through ICA's e-Service.

Which mission handles your application depends on where you live:

MissionWho applies thereHow
Consulate-General, MumbaiResidents of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat and OdishaAuthorised visa agents only; no walk-ins
High Commission, New DelhiApplicants in its jurisdictionAuthorised visa agents listed by the High Commission
Consulate-General, ChennaiApplicants using its agents in Chennai, Bengaluru and HyderabadAuthorised visa agents, or a local sponsor online; no walk-ins

Use only agents on the mission's own published list. The Mumbai consulate states it is not liable for extra charges imposed by non-authorised agents.

What documents do Indians need for a Singapore visa?

The Consulate-General in Mumbai lists these for a social or business visit (page last updated 10 Aug 2026):

  • Form 14A, filled in completely and signed by you. Your application is assessed on what you declare here.
  • One recent passport-size colour photograph, taken within the last three months and meeting ICA's photo guidelines (printed on matte or semi-matte paper, not edited; 400 × 514 pixels if uploaded).
  • A photocopy of your passport's biodata page, with the passport valid for at least six months from the date you enter Singapore.
  • Form V39A, a letter of introduction, which a local contact in Singapore may issue for you.

Further documents may be asked for case by case, and anything in Hindi must be translated into English. The High Commission in New Delhi asks for two photographs rather than one, so check your mission's list before you visit the agent.

How much does a Singapore visa cost for Indians?

Fees differ slightly by mission. All figures below are from the official pages, checked 12 Oct 2026; the rupee value of S$30 uses the Wise mid-market rate that day (S$1 = ₹74.77).

Where you applyOfficial visa feeAgent or service chargeTotal per application
Mumbai Consulate-General (covers Gujarat)₹2,100, non-refundable₹1,300 fixed₹3,400
New Delhi High Commission₹2,100, non-refundableUp to ₹1,300Up to ₹3,400
Chennai Consulate-GeneralS$30, charged in rupees at the consulate's rate₹1,000 visa service fee, plus any agent admin feeAbout ₹3,240 plus agent fees
Local contact in Singapore, via ICA e-ServiceS$30 (about ₹2,240), non-refundableNone charged by ICAAbout ₹2,240

Mumbai's ₹2,100 fee took effect on 1 Jan 2026, and the consulate says there is no extra charge for urgent applications. For a family of four applying through a Mumbai agent, the total is ₹13,600. The fee is not refunded if the visa is refused.

How long does a Singapore visa take, and how long is it valid?

  • Processing time. All three missions in India state 3 to 5 working days, not counting the day you submit, weekends or holidays. ICA's own page, for applications made through its e-Service, says three working days. Some applications take longer.
  • When to apply. ICA and the Mumbai consulate both advise applying within 30 days before you arrive.
  • What you receive. An approved visa is an e-Visa that your agent prints for you. With your visa reference number and passport number you can also check the status and print it yourself on the ICA website.
  • Validity. There is no fixed validity for Indians. The Mumbai consulate says each application, including the period of validity, is decided on its own merits. The validity is the window in which you may seek entry; it is not the length of your stay.
  • Length of stay. Decided at the checkpoint and shown in your e-Pass, which ICA emails to you after you clear immigration. It is not tied to the visa's validity.
  • New passport. The Mumbai consulate has stopped transferring visas to new passports. A visa becomes invalid when it expires or when you are issued a new passport, so renew your passport before you apply if it is close to expiry.
  • Staying longer. If you need more days than your e-Pass allows, the Mumbai consulate says to apply to ICA for an extension at least five working days before it expires.

What is the SG Arrival Card?

Every traveller, including those holding a visa, must submit the SG Arrival Card with an electronic health declaration before arriving. According to ICA (checked 12 Oct 2026):

  • submit it within three days before arrival, counting the arrival day (for a 30 June arrival, from 28 June);
  • use ICA's SG Arrival Card e-Service on ica.gov.sg or the free MyICA Mobile app;
  • it is free; ICA says it does not endorse commercial services that charge to submit it;
  • it is not a visa;
  • travellers who transit without clearing immigration do not need one.

Enter an email address you can open on arrival. Since 11 Mar 2022, ICA has sent foreign visitors an electronic visit pass (e-Pass) by email after immigration clearance instead of stamping passports, and it shows your last permitted day in Singapore.

Can Indians transit through Singapore without a visa?

Sometimes. ICA's Visa-Free Transit Facility (checked 12 Oct 2026) lets Indian nationals stay up to 96 hours without a Singapore visa if all of these apply:

  • you are in transit to or from a third country through Singapore;
  • you hold an onward air, ferry or cruise ticket departing Singapore within 96 hours;
  • you hold a valid visa or long-term pass issued by, or good for entry to, Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States, valid for at least one month from the day you enter Singapore;
  • you leave Singapore by air or sea.

The stay cannot be extended, and ICA officers still decide on entry. A holiday from India to Singapore and back is not a transit, so it needs a regular visa. If your connection is through Dubai instead, our Dubai layover guide covers that route.
