The story

XLine is a zipline across Dubai Marina, run by XDubai, which starts from its booth in the car park of Dubai Marina Mall. By XDubai's own page it is 1 km long, launches from 170 metres up and reaches up to 80 km/h, and you ride it alone, lying face down in a 'superman' harness, so you fly over the water and the towers head first. The ticket comes with a video and digital photos of your ride, and the whole visit, from check-in to the finish, takes about an hour by XDubai's FAQ. The operator sells it as a single 'Buy 1 Get 1' offer, meeting at the booth, with no transfer. The operator does not say whether the price covers one rider or two, or what conditions the offer carries. On 24 September 2026 XDubai's own site said XLine was temporarily closed, with no reopening date, so your captain checks with the operator that it is running on your date before anything is booked.

What it feels like: the ride is over in minutes, and the waiting is the hard part. You sign the waiver, are strapped into the harness and clipped on at the top, looking straight down at the Marina water and the traffic between the towers. Then the gate opens and you drop into speed. The wind pulls at your face and the towers slide past on both sides. At the bottom your legs may shake a little, and the video is waiting.

Who this suits: the adventure traveller and the friends group, for whom it is a single hard jolt of a story; bachelor and bachelorette groups taking turns; and teenagers of 12 or more in a family with a brave parent, since XLine's age limit is 12 to 65. It is not for anyone afraid of heights, over 100 kg, pregnant, or with a back, neck or heart condition, and not for grandparents: XLine's upper age limit is 65.
