What do the Swiss trips and group tours include?
Swiss–Paris Classic, from ₹1,89,999
Three days in Paris (a guided Louvre morning, a Seine cruise, an Eiffel Tower dusk slot, and Versailles or a free day), then the TGV Lyria to Basel and on into the Bernese Oberland. In Switzerland you get Interlaken, the Jungfraujoch railway, a Lauterbrunnen valley day with the option of the Grindelwald-First cliff walk, and a last day in Lucerne before the train to Zurich airport. Stays are central 3- to 4-star hotels with daily breakfast. Meals not listed, city taxes paid at hotels and travel insurance are extra.
Fascinating Europe group tour, from ₹2,07,000
A scheduled group tour with a tour manager throughout: three nights in Paris (a city tour, the Eiffel Tower top level when it is open, Versailles, a Seine cruise and a Disneyland Paris day), one night in Geneva and three in central Switzerland, with Jungfraujoch, Mt Titlis, Lucerne, Bern and the Rhine Falls. Touring is by air-conditioned coach. Published departures include 6 Nov, 20 Nov, 1 Dec and 24 Dec 2026, and 13 Feb, 8 Mar, 16 Mar and 27 Mar 2027, each confirmed in your written quote. Book flights only once your seat is confirmed in writing: landing at Paris CDG between 8 am and 2 pm, and leaving Zurich well after the coach drop at the airport by 11 am. A child is anyone under 11 for the whole tour.
Switzerland: The Alps by Train, from ₹2,19,999
Seven nights in three bases: Interlaken (three nights) for Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald and a lake boat; Zermatt (two nights) for the Gornergrat railway and the Matterhorn; and Lucerne (two nights) after the Glacier Express over the Oberalp Pass, with Pilatus. A Swiss Travel Pass covering trains, boats and buses is included, along with Glacier Express seat reservations. International flights, meals beyond breakfast and city tourist taxes are extra.
How much do Jungfraujoch and paragliding add?
| Add-on | Where | From (per person) | What is included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jungfraujoch: Top of Europe | Interlaken | ₹16,999 | Return rail, seat reservations, Ice Palace and Plateau access |
| Interlaken Tandem Paragliding | Interlaken | ₹12,999 | A 15 to 20 minute flight from Beatenberg, the shuttle up, harness and briefing |
Jungfraujoch is already in all three trips above, so you need the day trip only if you are planning Switzerland another way. The station sits at 3,454 metres and the Sphinx observation terrace at 3,571 metres, and the journey from Interlaken Ost via the Eiger Express takes about 1 hour 30 minutes (Jungfrau Railways, jungfrau.ch, checked October 2026). Our trip page warns that it is around minus 5 to minus 10 at the top even in July, so carry a proper jacket, gloves and sunglasses, and keep the day flexible for a clear forecast. Meals at the top are not included.
For paragliding, the photo and video package is extra, you make your own way to the Interlaken meeting point, and weather reschedules are free. For two, it adds ₹25,998.
What does a honeymoon in Switzerland cost?
Multiply the per-person price by two. These totals are before GST and TCS.
| Couple's trip | Total for two, from | Flights from Ahmedabad |
|---|---|---|
| Swiss–Paris Classic, 8 days | ₹3,79,998 | Included |
| Swiss–Paris Classic with paragliding for both | ₹4,05,996 | Included |
| Switzerland: The Alps by Train, 8 days | ₹4,39,998 | Quoted separately |
The Alps by Train is the slower, Switzerland-only choice, with car-free Zermatt and about eight hours on the Glacier Express with lunch at your seat. The Classic suits couples who want Paris too, with flights in one price.
For a family of four adults, the Classic comes to ₹7,59,996 with flights and the group tour to ₹8,28,000 before flights, both before GST and TCS. Children are priced in your quote.
Do you need a Swiss Travel Pass on a planned trip?
Usually not. The Alps by Train trip includes a Swiss Travel Pass, the Swiss–Paris Classic includes the trains between cities on its route, and the group tour travels by coach. You need to buy one only if you plan your own Swiss days. Note that our standalone Jungfraujoch ticket does not include a pass.
Switzerland Tourism lists these Swiss Travel Pass prices for consecutive days (myswitzerland.com, checked October 2026):
| Days | 2nd class | 1st class |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days | CHF 254 | CHF 405 |
| 4 days | CHF 309 | CHF 492 |
| 8 days | CHF 439 | CHF 697 |
The pass gives unlimited travel by train, bus and boat, free entry to more than 500 museums, and up to 50% off many other mountain excursions. Children aged 6 to 15 travel free with the free Swiss Family Card when at least one parent holds a pass, under-6s travel free, and travellers under 25 get 30% off.
Which months suit Switzerland for Indian families?
Switzerland Tourism gives these daytime temperature ranges (myswitzerland.com, checked October 2026):
| Months | Daytime temperature | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| July and August | 18°C to 28°C | The warmest months, for lakes, trains and mountain days |
| March to May, and September to November | 8°C to 15°C | Spring flowers or autumn colours; pack layers |
| January and February | –2°C to 7°C | Winter clothing for everyone; snow is likelier at altitude |
Whichever month you choose, the top of Jungfraujoch is cold, which matters most for elderly parents; our trip page also advises moving slowly for the first half hour at 3,454 metres.
The group tour serves Jain and vegetarian menus at every included lunch and dinner. On the private trips breakfast is included and other meals are your choice; tell us about Jain or vegetarian needs when you enquire.
Which visa do you need for Switzerland?
A Schengen short-stay visa. Switzerland is among the Schengen countries listed by EU Home Affairs, and one visa covers a trip that also takes in Paris. From EU Home Affairs (checked October 2026):
- The fee is €90 for adults and €45 for children aged 6 to 12.
- Apply at least 15 days before travel and no earlier than six months before.
- The normal processing time is 15 days, which can stretch to 45 days if more documents are needed.
- Apply at the consulate of the country where you spend the longest time, or the first country you visit if the time is equal.
- Fingerprints are collected when you apply, and you need medical insurance covering emergency care, hospitalisation and repatriation.
- The visa allows up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
All three of our trips spend more nights in Switzerland than in France, so the application usually goes to Switzerland; we confirm this against your final itinerary. The Swiss–Paris Classic includes the visa fee and file. The group tour excludes visa charges, and the Alps by Train trip doesn't list the visa, so on those two the visa fee is extra. Travel insurance is not in any of the prices, and you need it for the visa.
