The price includes return AC transport from Ahmedabad, 1 night in Somnath and 2 nights in Dwarka, all breakfasts and dinners (pure vegetarian), the Bet Dwarka crossing and a guide at both main temples. Lunches, special darshan or VIP queue tickets, and offerings and prasad are extra. GST is shown in your written quote; TCS applies only to trips abroad, so there is none on this one.

Prices checked 16 Oct 2026 from our live trip pages. Temple timings checked with the Shree Somnath Trust and the Dwarkadhish temple's own site, and Sudarshan Setu with the Press Information Bureau, in October 2026.

What does a 4-day Somnath, Dwarka and Bet Dwarka plan look like?

This is the plan on our trip page. The drives run through Saurashtra, and the stays are close enough to walk to darshan.

DayRouteWhat you do
1Ahmedabad to SomnathDrive down, the evening aarti at Somnath, then the sound-and-light show on the temple wall
2Somnath to DwarkaMorning darshan and Bhalka Tirth, the coast road to Dwarka, the evening aarti at Dwarkadhish
3Bet DwarkaCross to Bet Dwarka in the morning, Nageshwar and Rukmini temples on the way back, sunset at the lighthouse
4Dwarka to AhmedabadMorning darshan if you want it, then the drive home

The Dwarkadhish temple stands over the Gomti, with 56 steps down to the ghat, and Nageshwar is a Jyotirlinga, so the trip covers two Jyotirlingas with Somnath.

What are the darshan and aarti timings at Somnath and Dwarkadhish?

These are the timings each temple publishes, checked in October 2026. Both can change on festival days.

Somnath6:00 am to 10:00 pm7:00 am, 12:00 noon and 7:00 pmShree Somnath Trust FAQ, somnath.org
Dwarkadhish6:30 am to 1:00 pm, and 5:00 pm to 9:30 pmMangla 6:30 am, Shringar 10:30 am, Sandhya 7:30 pm, Shayan 8:30 pmTemple time table, dwarkadhish.org

Two things to plan around:

  • Dwarkadhish closes from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and darshan also pauses for short periods during the day for bhog and the morning abhishek (8:00 to 9:00 am). Plan the hot afternoon as rest time at the hotel.
  • Somnath's sound-and-light show runs in the evening after the aarti and is not held in the monsoon. The trust's FAQ gives 8:00 to 9:00 pm, while its darshan page says 7.45 to 8.45 pm, so confirm the time at the temple on the day.

For Janmashtami, Dwarka becomes very crowded; tell us if you want to be there for it or to avoid it.

How do you reach Bet Dwarka now that Sudarshan Setu is open?

By road, across the bridge. The Prime Minister inaugurated Sudarshan Setu on 25 Feb 2024, connecting the Okha mainland with Beyt Dwarka island (Press Information Bureau, checked October 2026). PIB describes it as the longest cable-stayed bridge in the country, at around 2.32 km, and notes that before it was built, pilgrims had to rely on boats to reach Beyt Dwarka. Its footpath carries verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Bhagwan Krishna on both sides.

Our trip page still lists a Bet Dwarka boat transfer. Your written quote confirms whether your group crosses by Sudarshan Setu or by boat, so you know before you pay.

Is the trip easy for elderly parents?

Yes, it is one of our gentlest trips for parents. Both temples are reached by short, mostly level walks from the vehicle, the hotels are within walking distance of darshan, and all meals included are pure vegetarian, with Jain meals on request. Points to plan for:

  • At Somnath, the trust's FAQ says wheelchairs and golf carts are available at the main gate for senior citizens and physically challenged visitors, and there is a lift inside the temple premises.
  • At Dwarkadhish, the 56 steps down to the Gomti ghat need care, and you walk barefoot on stone that gets hot by midday. Morning and evening darshan are cooler.
  • Queues: special darshan or VIP queue tickets are not included. If a parent cannot stand for long, tell us and we plan the visits around it.

What are the temple rules on dress, phones and bags?

Somnath. The Shree Somnath Trust's FAQ says electronic equipment and gadgets are strictly prohibited inside, and photography is not allowed. You can leave phones and cameras in lockers at the cloak room, which the trust says is free. Saris, dhotis, trousers, T-shirts and skirts are allowed; miniskirts and disrespectful dress are not. Smoking is not allowed near the temple. The FAQ does not mention bags, so carry as little as you can.

Dwarkadhish. The temple's site publishes its timetable but no rules on phones or bags that we could find in October 2026. Plan to leave phones and bags in the vehicle or at the hotel, and check at the gate before booking any special darshan.

For both, dress modestly with shoulders and knees covered; it is the simplest way to avoid any question at the gate.

Can you add Gir to the same trip?

Yes. Our Gir: The Asiatic Lion Safari trip already drives through Somnath on its way home, so the two join naturally: Ahmedabad to Sasan Gir for two nights and two safaris, then Somnath for one night and Dwarka for two, then home. Booked separately, the two trips add up to ₹35,998 per person; a joined route is priced in your quote.

Our Gir trip page gives December to March as the best months. Safari permits are booked on the official Gir permit site (girlion.gujarat.gov.in), and we book them ahead, so send us each traveller's ID details well in advance. A sighting is never guaranteed, which is why the trip has two safaris.

For a shorter weekend, the Statue of Unity trip is 2 days from ₹8,999. More ideas are in our weekend getaways from Ahmedabad and the Gujarat guide.
