The story

King Power Mahanakhon is the tall tower in Silom beside Chong Nonsi BTS station, and the SkyWalk is its observation deck, spread over three floors near the top. A lift lined with video screens takes you to the 74th floor, which the tower says it reaches in under 50 seconds. The 74th is the indoor deck: glass on every side, interactive screens that name the landmarks below, binoculars and a postbox. From the 75th a glass lift carries you up to the 78th floor, which is an open-air rooftop. There you find the glass tray, a 63 square metre glass floor 310 m above the street, and The Peak at 314 m, the deck's highest standing point (kingpowermahanakhon.co.th, checked 23 Sep 2026). Every option on the operator's list except one pairs the SkyWalk with Mahanakhon SkyVerse, a digital art gallery on the building's 4th floor: nine rooms of projection, light and sound on Thai themes, one of which lets children colour a flower or an insect and watch it come alive on the wall. You choose a daytime or a sunset entry, plain or with a drink or eat package, ticket only or with a private return transfer from your hotel. The SkyWalk with SkyVerse starts.

What it feels like: the lift is quick enough that the doors open before you have finished looking at the screens. On the 74th floor Bangkok is suddenly flat and enormous, grey-green and hazy, towers standing up out of it in clusters, the river somewhere among them, the expressways drawn across it like pencil lines. The rooftop is a different thing: open sky, wind, and the city's noise gone. At the glass tray you are given disposable covers for your shoes and asked to put phones and loose things away before you step on, so the first step is taken with empty hands. Late in the day the light turns orange over the western side of the city and the lights start to come on below you; the sunset entry costs more. SkyVerse, down on the 4th floor, is the opposite: dark rooms, projected light and sound, and a drawing table where a child's picture ends up moving on the wall.

Who this suits, and why: couples and honeymooners, for the sunset entry and The Peak, which the tower itself pitches as its sunset spot; the school-holiday family, because SkyVerse is built for children and the glass floor is the story they will tell at school; and the multigenerational group, since lifts do all the climbing and nobody has to step on the glass. Active seniors are fine on the 74th floor and the rooftop; anyone uneasy with heights can stay indoors on the 74th, which has the same view through glass.

What your ticket covers

Opening hours and entry times are confirmed for your date.

  1. Your private vehicle collects you from your Bangkok hotel and drives you to King Power Mahanakhon in Silom. On the ticket-only options you make your own way; Chong Nonsi BTS station, exit 3, is the nearest Skytrain stop by the tower's own page.

  2. The SkyWalk ticket counter is in the ground-floor lobby; your voucher says where to present it. A corridor of digital walls leads to the lifts, which run to the 74th floor in under 50 seconds by the tower's page.

  3. Glass on all sides, interactive screens naming the landmarks, binoculars and a postbox. The eat and drink packages, on the options that carry one, are redeemed where your voucher says; your captain confirms where and what before you pay.

  4. A glass lift from the 75th floor takes you to the open-air roof. Shoe covers go on for the glass tray, phones and loose items are put away, and photographs on the glass are taken from the official photo point. The Peak, at 314 m, is the highest standing point.

  5. The digital art gallery, open 10 am to 9 pm with last entry at 8:30 pm by the tower's SkyVerse page. Plan the sunset options so that SkyVerse comes first, before 8:30 pm.

  6. Your vehicle takes you back to your hotel at the time agreed with your captain.

Know before you go

  • The 78th floor is an open-air rooftop. Whether it stays open in rain or high wind is the tower's decision on the day; if the rooftop matters to you, choose a daytime entry early in your stay so there is room to go again.
  • Glass tray rules from the tower's own page: shoe covers are compulsory, phones and all loose items must be kept away from the glass, and photographs on the glass are taken only from the official photo point. Nobody has to step on it.
  • Heights: the 74th floor is indoors behind glass and is the gentler choice for anyone nervous of heights or with vertigo; the rooftop can be windy.
  • SkyVerse is open 10 am to 9 pm with last entry at 8:30 pm; the SkyWalk is open 10 am to midnight with last access at 11 pm (tower's pages, checked 23 Sep 2026). On a sunset option, see SkyVerse first.
  • Sunset: the entry window of the sunset options is printed on your voucher and confirmed by your captain. Sunset time in Bangkok moves through the year, and cloud can hide it; the price is for the entry window, not for the view.
  • Eat and drink packages: the sheet does not say what is served. Vegetarian and Jain food, and whether a drink package can be soft drinks only, are questions for your captain to settle with the operator before you pay.
  • Private-transfer options: the sheet prices them per option without saying whether the rate is per person or assumes a minimum party size. Your captain confirms the basis and the vehicle before you pay.
  • Child and infant rates and age bands are not on the operator's list; the tower's own ticket page has a child band for ages 8 to 12. Tell your captain every child's age so the right rate is quoted.
  • Availability is confirmed by the operator when your captain books; a booking can be declined by the supplier for a price change, allocation or stop-sale.
  • Prices are in INR, one rate per option as the operator gives it. GST + TCS on international bookings are shown in your written quote.
