Nepal Trip Cost from India 2026: 6–7 Days from ₹42,999

A Nepal trip from India costs from ₹42,999 per person with us for 6 days in Kathmandu and Pokhara, ₹49,999 for 6 days with a Chitwan safari and ₹59,999 for a 7-day Poon Hill trek, each with return flights from Ahmedabad (prices checked 16 Oct 2026). The Everest mountain flight adds from ₹18,999 per person, and a tandem paraglide over Pokhara from ₹6,999 per person.
Each trip price includes return flights from Ahmedabad, hotel stays with daily breakfast, transfers, the listed sightseeing and a trip captain with local crew, and the trek includes its permits. Indians need no visa for Nepal, so there is no visa fee to budget for. GST and TCS are shown in your written quote.
Prices checked 16 Oct 2026 from our live trip pages. Entry rules checked with the Nepal Tourism Board and the Embassy of Nepal, New Delhi, and seasons with the Nepal Tourism Board, in October 2026.
How much does a Nepal trip cost from India?
Our three planned Nepal trips, priced per person on 16 Oct 2026:
| Trip | Length | From (per person) | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nepal: Kathmandu & Pokhara | 6 days, 5 nights | ₹42,999 | A first trip, parents, mountain views without trekking |
| Nepal: Chitwan Safari & Culture | 6 days, 5 nights | ₹49,999 | Families who want wildlife as well as Kathmandu's temples |
| Nepal: Poon Hill Short Trek | 7 days, 6 nights | ₹59,999 | A first Himalayan trek for people who already walk |
All three list return flights from Ahmedabad, with departures from other metro cities on request. None of them has fixed departure dates, so the price is confirmed for your dates in the quote.
If you start on a Saturday, a 6-day trip uses four working days of leave, and the 7-day trek uses five.
What do the Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan trips include?
Kathmandu & Pokhara, from ₹42,999
The first two days are in Kathmandu: Thamel on the first evening, then Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and a durbar square on the heritage day. Day three goes up to Nagarkot on the valley rim, at about 2,100 metres, for sunset and a dawn view of the range. You then reach Pokhara by a six-hour drive or a 25-minute flight, with a boat on Phewa Lake that evening and a dawn trip up to Sarangkot for Annapurna and Machapuchare.
Chitwan Safari & Culture, from ₹49,999
After the Kathmandu heritage day, you drive about five hours south to Chitwan National Park for a jeep safari, a dugout canoe on the Rapti river, a Tharu cultural evening, a guided jungle walk and the elephant breeding centre. One-horned rhinos are common; tigers live there but are rarely seen, so set children's expectations before the jeep goes out. You return to Kathmandu by road or a short flight.
Poon Hill Short Trek, from ₹59,999
This one is a walking holiday. From Pokhara you drive to Nayapul and walk over five days through Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani (2,860 metres) and Ghandruk, with a climb in the dark to Poon Hill at 3,210 metres for sunrise over Annapurna South and Dhaulagiri. The day up to Ghorepani is a stone staircase of more than 3,000 steps and about six hours of walking. Trek permits are included, and our captains carry oximeters and a descent plan.
What the trips don't include
Meals not listed, optional add-ons, personal shopping, tips and travel insurance are extra. Budget for most lunches and dinners.
How much do the Everest flight and paragliding add?
| Add-on | Where | From (per person) | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Everest: The Mountain Flight | Kathmandu | ₹18,999 | About an hour along the range at dawn, a guaranteed window seat, hotel pickup and airport taxes |
| Pokhara: Paragliding off Sarangkot | Pokhara | ₹6,999 | A tandem flight with a licensed pilot, 25 to 35 minutes in the air, transfers included |
The mountain flight fits the morning before your flight home on the Kathmandu and Pokhara trip. It leaves at dawn because the range clouds over by mid-morning. If the airline cancels for weather, you get a full refund or a seat the next morning. The cabin is not pressurised, so anyone with a heart or lung condition should ask a doctor first.
Paragliding has weight limits at both ends of the scale, so tell us each person's weight honestly when you book; very young or very light children may not be able to fly. The launch means running a few steps off the ridge, and GoPro footage is charged separately. Our trip page gives October to April as the season, because monsoon months are unreliable.
Adding both to the Kathmandu and Pokhara trip comes to ₹68,997 per person (₹42,999 + ₹18,999 + ₹6,999), before GST and TCS.
Do Indians need a passport or visa for Nepal?
No visa. The Nepal Tourism Board says travellers of Indian nationality do not need a visa to enter Nepal (ntb.gov.np, checked October 2026). You do need valid identity:
- Flying in: the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi lists a valid Indian passport or a voter ID issued by the Government of India for Indian citizens over 10 travelling by air.
- Aadhaar does not count: the Nepal Tourism Board says the Aadhaar card is not accepted as a travel document.
- Parents and children: the Tourism Board also lists photo ID such as a PAN card, driving licence or ration card for travellers over 65, and a school identity card for those under 18.
Because our trips fly, we ask everyone over 10 to carry a passport or voter ID. For children under 10, check with us which document the airline wants before booking. There is no visa fee and no visa wait.
Which months give clear mountain views?
The Nepal Tourism Board's climate page (checked October 2026) says the clearest skies come after the monsoon, in October and November, and that spring and autumn are the best seasons for the trekking areas. About 80% of Nepal's rain falls in the monsoon, from June to September.
| Season | What the Tourism Board says | What it means for your trip |
|---|---|---|
| October and November | The clearest skies, just after the monsoon | The surest time for the Everest flight and the Nagarkot and Sarangkot sunrises |
| December to February | Cold, with bright sun and clear views even in December and January; Kathmandu winters average 2°C to 12°C | Good for Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan with warm layers |
| Spring | One of the two best seasons for trekking | Poon Hill, with the rhododendron forest in flower, as our trek page notes |
| June to September | The monsoon, with most of the year's rain | Clouds hide the peaks, and mountain flights and paragliding are often cancelled |
Chitwan sits in the southern lowlands, where the Tourism Board says summer can pass 40°C, so the safari is more comfortable in the cooler months.
Is Nepal easy with elderly parents and vegetarian food?
Elderly parents
The Kathmandu and Pokhara trip and the Chitwan trip are the two we suggest for parents. Most sightseeing is by vehicle, boat or jeep with short walks, and Chitwan has one guided walk. Kathmandu sits at about 1,400 metres and Nagarkot at about 2,100 metres, so keep the first evening easy. The Tourism Board notes that temperatures drop about 6°C for every 1,000 metres you climb, so pack a warm layer for the dawn viewpoints. For the Pokhara leg, ask us to price the 25-minute flight instead of the six-hour drive.
The Poon Hill trek suits only fit seniors who already walk for hours, because of the thousands of stone steps.
Vegetarian and Jain food
Breakfast is included daily; other meals are yours to choose. Dal bhat, Nepal's everyday plate of rice, lentils and vegetables, is vegetarian, and momos come with vegetable fillings. For Jain meals without onion, garlic or root vegetables, tell us when you enquire, and your trip captain checks each included meal with the hotel before you travel.
What does a couple or a family of four pay?
Multiply the per-person price by the number of travellers. Children are priced in your quote, by age and by whether they need their own bed. These totals are before GST and TCS.
| Who is travelling | Trip | Total from |
|---|---|---|
| Couple | Kathmandu & Pokhara, 6 days | ₹85,998 |
| Couple | Kathmandu & Pokhara with the Everest flight | ₹1,23,996 |
| Couple | Poon Hill Short Trek, 7 days | ₹1,19,998 |
| Four adults | Kathmandu & Pokhara, 6 days | ₹1,71,996 |
| Four adults | Chitwan Safari & Culture, 6 days | ₹1,99,996 |
