The story

Uluru changes colour through the first twenty minutes of light and there is a reason people get up at four for it.

The Field of Light is a separate thing entirely — an art installation of 50,000 frosted-glass stems spread over an area the size of seven football pitches, lit only by the sun they stored that day. Seen from the dune at dawn with the rock behind, it is genuinely difficult to describe.

What happens

The plan as the operator runs it. Start times and pickup are confirmed for your date.

  1. Pre-dawn pickup, the Field of Light while it is still dark, then the dune for sunrise over Uluru and breakfast.
