The story

This is the operator's full-day speedboat tour from Phuket to the Phi Phi islands, about ten hours door to door on their sheet. The islands sit inside Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park in Krabi province: the two large islands are Phi Phi Don, where the ferries and hotels are, and Phi Phi Le about 2 km away, a steep limestone island whose coves include Pileh lagoon, Loh Samah Bay and Maya Bay (Tourism Authority of Thailand, checked 24 Sep 2026). The operator does not list the stops its boat makes, so we do not promise any particular bay: your captain sends the operator's programme for your date with the quote.

There are four ways to book it. Two leave the national park fee out, so you pay it on the day. Two include the park fee. The park's own fee for foreign visitors is 400 baht per adult and 200 baht per child on the Tourism Authority of Thailand's page.

What it feels like: an early start, a speedboat that feels fast and loud once it clears the harbour, and spray on the open stretch. Then the cliffs come up out of the sea, grey and green and much taller than photographs suggest, and the water under the boat turns a colour you will spend the drive home trying to describe. A speedboat day is about short hops and quick stops rather than lingering, and the famous bays are busy in season, so expect company. By the ride back most people are sunburnt, salty and happy to sit still.

Who this suits, and why: friends groups and honeymooners who want the classic Phuket island day in one go; the school-holiday family with children old enough to enjoy a fast boat; teenagers, for whom the speedboat is half the fun. It is less kind to anyone with a bad back or a tendency to seasickness, because speedboats jolt on waves; they may be happier on a larger, slower boat.

What happens

The plan as the operator runs it. Start times and pickup are confirmed for your date.

  1. On the transfer options, collection from your Phuket hotel early in the morning; the time comes with your voucher. On the ticket-only option you make your own way to the pier named on the voucher.

  2. Check-in at the pier, a safety briefing from the crew, then the speedboat run out to the islands.

  3. The operator does not list the stops. Your captain sends the operator's programme for your date with the quote, so you know which bays, beaches and swimming stops are planned before you pay. The crew can change the order or skip a stop for sea conditions or park rules on the day.

  4. Back to the pier in the late afternoon, then the transfer to your hotel on the transfer options.

  • The national park fee is included only on the options that say so. • Sea conditions decide the day: the operator can change the route or cancel for weather, and the boat may land on open beaches where you step off into shallow water.
  • Carry sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes and a dry bag for your phone. Island shops and fees are paid in Thai baht cash.
  • The private-transfer option is shown per person because the operator does not say whether it is priced per person or per vehicle; your captain confirms it before you pay.
  • Child and infant prices and age bands are not on the operator's list; your captain quotes them with the operator.
  • Availability is confirmed by the operator when your captain books; a booking can be declined by the supplier for a price change, allocation or stop-sale.
