The story

The operator sells a Phuket Heritage Pass that its sheet describes as Old Town, Wat Chalong and a cultural show. The sheet does not say which cultural show, whether the Old Town part is a guided walk, a museum entry or simply the visit, whether you go on one day or several, or how long the pass is valid, and we could not find an official page for a pass of this name. Your captain gets those answers from the operator, in writing, before you pay.

The places themselves are well documented. Phuket Old Town is the grid of Thalang, Dibuk, Phang Nga, Yaowarat and Krabi roads and Soi Romanee, settled by Chinese, Indian, European and Muslim traders, whose terraced shophouses gave the style now called Sino-European; many are now cafés, restaurants, guesthouses and shops, and on Sunday evenings from 16:00 to 22:00 Thalang Road becomes a walking street market (Tourism Authority of Thailand, checked 24 Sep 2026). Wat Chalong, also called Wat Chaitharam, on Chao Fa Road in Chalong, is an important place of worship for Phuket's Buddhists, where people come to pay respect to the images of Luang Por Chaem, a monk remembered for traditional medicine and meditation, and of Luang Por Chuang.

What it feels like: an unhurried day of looking rather than doing. Painted shophouse fronts and shaded walkways in the Old Town; incense and quiet devotion at the temple, where local families and visitors still come to pay their respects. The show, whichever the operator confirms, completes the pass. Who this suits, and why: seniors and multigenerational families who want Phuket's history and faith without a boat; food-led travellers who will spend the Old Town part in its cafés; couples on a first visit who want more than the beaches.

What happens at the show

Show times and doors open are confirmed for your date.

  1. Your captain asks the operator which cultural show the pass includes, what it covers in the Old Town and at Wat Chalong, whether it runs on one day and how long it is valid, and sends it to you in writing.

  2. Thalang, Dibuk, Phang Nga, Yaowarat and Krabi roads and Soi Romanee, with their shophouses, cafés and shops.

  3. The temple on Chao Fa Road, Chalong. Dress for a place of worship.

  4. The show the operator names for your date. With the shared-transfer option, transfers between your hotel and the stops as the operator confirms.
