The story

Forty metres of water falling through the middle of a glass dome, ringed by more than 900 trees and palms. It is attached to an airport, which somehow makes it better rather than worse.

The Canopy Park on the top level has nets you can walk on and a hedge maze. It is an easy way to fill a long layover in Singapore, and worth a trip even without one.

What happens

The plan as the operator runs it. Start times and pickup are confirmed for your date.

  1. Three hours inside the terminal that people deliberately arrive early for. The Rain Vortex is the world's tallest indoor waterfall at forty metres, falling through an oculus in the toroidal glass roof into a basin below. Work from the bottom up through Forest Valley, planted with more than 900 trees and palms and laced with two walking routes, then Canopy Park on level 5 for the walking net suspended 25 metres above the ground, the mirror maze and the hedge maze. After dark the falls run a light and sound show at 8pm and 9pm nightly, with a third show at 10pm on Fridays, weekends and public holidays. Jewel connects landside to Terminal 1's arrival hall and to Terminals 2 and 3 by a short link-bridge walk, so you can do this without a boarding pass.
