The route we start from

These are the stages published for this trip. A stage can cover part of a day or several days; it is not a separate travel day.

1. Stage 01

   Arrive in Kolkata

   Use the first night in Kolkata. Confirm the departure point, both road transfers, ferry arrangements and the island hotel before setting out.

2. Stage 02

   Road and ferry to Sagar Island

   Travel from Kolkata towards Lot 8 at Harwood Point. If the crossing operates, continue by ferry towards Kachuberia, then by island transport to the agreed hotel. Spend the first night on the island.

3. Stage 03

   Kapil Muni and the island

   Give the Kapil Muni temple area its own visit, subject to local access. The shoreline can be a viewing stop if conditions permit; no bathing or religious service is arranged. Stay a second night on Sagar Island.

4. Stage 04

   Return across the river

   Leave time for local transport, ferry queues and the road back to Kolkata. Stay overnight in Kolkata; if the crossing is disrupted agree a revised arrangement before travelling.

5. Stage 05

   Depart from Kolkata

   Leave for the agreed rail station or airport in Kolkata. Keep onward travel separate from the planned ferry day.
