The story

Flying Hanuman is a zipline park in the rainforest at Kathu, in central Phuket, open every day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with last admission at 4:00 pm. The operator gives the drive as about 20 minutes from Phuket Town, 25 from Patong, 35 from Kata and 45 from the airport, and says its harnesses, helmets and hardware meet the European EN 15567 standard (flyinghanuman.com, checked 24 Sep 2026). It is a different park from Hanuman World, which is sold as a separate product. The operator sells three ways in. Flying Hanuman's own site names its courses differently today (42, 28 and 12 platforms), so your captain confirms with the operator exactly which course you are booked on before you pay.

What it feels like: a harness, a helmet and a short briefing, then a climb to the first platform with the trees all round you. A guide clips you on. The first step off is the hard part; after that it is the whirr of the trolley on the cable, the green going past underneath, and the next platform coming up faster than you expected. By the fifth or sixth line the nervous ones are asking to go first. Journey A is the longer course; Journey B is the shorter one, for a first try.

Who this suits, and why: families with teenagers and friends groups who want one active half-day away from the beach; the adventure traveller; couples who like a bit of fright. The operator takes children from 4 years with an adult, and everyone must weigh between 15 and 120 kg, so it also works for a school-holiday family with younger children who are keen. It is not for pregnant travellers, and anyone with a real fear of heights should talk to the captain first.

What happens

The plan as the operator runs it. Start times and pickup are confirmed for your date.

  1. On the Journey A options, collection from your Phuket hotel by shared or private transfer, at the time on your voucher. On the Journey B ticket, you make your own way to the park at 89/16 Moo 6, Soi Namtok Kathu; the operator asks guests to arrive 30 minutes before their time.

  2. Harness and helmet fitting and a safety briefing with the guides.

  3. Through the trees from platform to platform with a guide: 28 platforms on Journey A, 16 on Journey B, as the operator names them. Your captain confirms the course with the operator.

  4. On Journey A with shared transfer, a meal at the park's restaurant, which serves Thai and international food (flyinghanuman.com). Then the transfer back to your hotel; the operator gives about 4 hours for Journey A and 3 hours for Journey B.
