What we work through with you

1. Your date and who is joining

   Tell us the date you want and who is coming, with children’s ages and any access or food needs, so we can check suitability with the operator.

2. The practical arrangements

   We check available times, the meeting point, transport if listed and the operator’s requirements. Optional extras are confirmed separately.

3. Your written quote

   Review the final arrangements, total price, inclusions and payment and cancellation terms before booking. An enquiry does not reserve this trip.

The experience outline

The plan as the operator runs it. Start times and pickup are confirmed for your date.

1. Step 01

   Pickup & Dunes

   Picked up from your hotel in the mid-afternoon and driven out to the dune belt, around forty-five minutes. The drivers stop to deflate the tyres, which is what makes the sand drivable, and then spend the next half hour going up and down faces at angles that feel wrong. Sit in the front if you want it worse.

2. Step 02

   Sunset

   Out of the vehicles for sandboarding down a face, which is easier than snowboarding and slower than it looks, plus the camel stop and a falcon on the glove for photographs. This is timed for the last hour of light, when the dunes turn amber and everything photographs well without any effort.

3. Step 03

   Camp Night

   The camp after dark: a barbecue with vegetarian and Jain options if asked for in advance, henna, shisha, and the shows, which are tanoura and belly dance and a fire performance. Away from the lights the stars are genuinely good. Back at your hotel by around half past nine.
