The story

Bird Paradise is Mandai Wildlife Group's bird park in the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, alongside Singapore Zoo, River Wonders and Night Safari. It covers 17 hectares and holds more than 3,500 birds from over 400 species, most of them in 8 large netted aviaries built around different regions of the world rather than in individual cages (mandai.com, checked 26 Sep 2026). Named zones include Penguin Cove and the Heart of Africa aviary. Mandai calls it Asia's largest bird park. The park opens at 9am and closes at 6pm, with last entry at 5pm. Through the day there are keeper talks, animal feedings and presentations, and two children's play zones. The operator's ticket is admission only, or admission with a shared transfer from your Singapore hotel.

What it feels like: walking into a large netted aviary with birds flying free around you rather than sitting in cages, so the first minutes are about the noise and the movement. The park covers 17 hectares, so the 4 to 5 hours the sheet allows are not too many. A keeper talk timed right can turn a tired child around for the rest of the visit.

Who this suits, and why: families with children, since the day has natural stopping points at each aviary and at the two play zones; seniors comfortable with a long walking day at their own pace; and couples who enjoy a slower, walking day. Anyone wanting a short visit should know the park is large enough that rushing it changes the day.

What your ticket covers
