The route we start from

These are the stages published for this trip. A stage can cover part of a day or several days; it is not a separate travel day.

1. Stage 01

   Arrival

   Land and go straight to the water. The Merlion and the bay walk take an hour, a bumboat along the river takes another, and Clarke Quay at the end of it is where the city eats and drinks outdoors. Short, easy, and it orients you for the two proper days that follow.

2. Stage 02

   Gardens & Sky

   Gardens by the Bay in the morning for the two conservatories: the Cloud Forest, built around a thirty-five-metre indoor waterfall, and the Flower Dome. Up to the SkyPark on Marina Bay Sands for the skyline at sunset, then down to the Supertree Grove for the light show after dark.

3. Stage 03

   Wild Night

   Sentosa in the morning, by cable car for the harbour view. After dark, the Night Safari: the world's first nocturnal wildlife park, an open tram through the park's habitats with audio commentary, and walking trails off it. Genuinely different from a daytime zoo and worth staying up for.

4. Stage 04

   The Return

   A short last morning, then Jewel at Changi on the way to the gate: a forty-metre indoor waterfall in a terminal, surrounded by forest. Arrive early on purpose. Three nights is enough for Singapore precisely because everything is twenty minutes from everything else.
