The story

Pattaya Bungy Jump, run by Xbungy, has been jumping people over its lake since 1989, by its own account, and says it works to the safety standard of the Standards Association of New Zealand. You jump from 60 metres. The operator says its equipment is certified to five times the load it is designed for and that it doubles everything, so every jumper wears leg straps and a full body harness; it jumps every day from 10 am, with the last slot at 5.30 pm. Each jumper gets a certificate with a QR code for downloading a video of the jump, which the operator keeps for three months (pattayabungy.com, checked 24 Sep 2026).

What it feels like: the long walk to the edge, the jumpmaster's countdown, and a second in which every part of you says no. Then the drop, the lake rushing up, the rebound, and a strange quiet as you hang there with your heart going.
