The story

Art in Paradise is an illusion art museum on Pattaya Second Road, near Pattaya City Hall. The paintings are drawn so that, from the right spot, they look three-dimensional in a photograph, and you are meant to touch them, step into them and pose. The Tourism Authority of Thailand describes more than ten themed halls across 5,800 square metres, among them an Underwater World hall, a Wildlife hall, a Dinosaur hall and a Waterfall hall, with playful takes on famous paintings. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports' directory adds that it opened on 2 May 2012, that twelve Korean artists painted the works, and that each picture shows an example pose to copy (both checked 24 Sep 2026).

What it feels like: less a gallery than a photo studio with a sense of humour. You stand on a marked spot, someone in your group crouches with the phone, and a moment later the picture shows you standing inside the painting. The fun is in the posing, the laughing and the reviewing of pictures, and it works best in a group that does not mind looking silly. It is indoors, which makes it a good answer to a hot afternoon or a rain shower.

Who this suits, and why: families with children of any age, since the paintings need no explanation; friends groups and ladies-only groups who want a stack of funny photographs; grandparents who want an unhurried indoor outing. It suits a relaxed afternoon, not someone who wants art history.
