The story

Two-thirds of Earth's one-horned rhinos live in this one floodplain park, and seeing your first through morning mist is a core memory in the making. Jeep safaris in two ranges, an optional elephant-back dawn, wild elephants, otters and — if the forest is generous — a tiger.

Evenings settle into a colonial-era tea estate with Assam's finest in your cup.

  1. Fly into Guwahati and drive east to Kaziranga, around five hours through tea country. Check into an estate stay on the edge of the park. The evening is the veranda and a briefing, because the safaris start at first light and the gates do not wait.

  2. The central range at dawn, which is the classic Kaziranga drive: elephant grass higher than the jeep, mist on the floodplain, and one-horned rhino at close range. The park holds around two-thirds of the world population, so this is not a matter of luck. The afternoon is the estate.

  3. The western range, which is more water and better for birds, plus the highest rhino density in the park. Kaziranga is also a tiger reserve, though the tall grass means almost nobody sees one. The orchid park afterwards, and an Assamese thali at night.

  4. A tea tasting on the estate before the drive back to Guwahati and the flight home. Three nights, two ranges, and a floodplain that supports more large mammals per square kilometre than almost anywhere else in Asia.

Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7 working days of approval.

Cancellation policy

30+ days before departure: lose only the deposit.

15–29 days: 50% of the package cost.

7–14 days: 75% of the package cost.

Under 7 days or no-show: no refund.

One free date-change to a later departure is allowed up to 15 days out.
