James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay takes its name from The Man with the Golden Gun, filmed there in 1974. The Tourism Authority of Thailand gives the name both to Khao Tapu, a limestone pillar about 20 metres high standing in the sea (tourismthailand.org), and to Khao Phing Kan, the twin-peaked island about 40 metres from it (TAT Newsroom), both checked 24 Sep 2026. The bay's limestone karsts have drawn film crews since, including Jurassic World Rebirth in 2025 (TAT Newsroom).
