The story

Doi Inthanon National Park covers 1,005 square kilometres of Chiang Mai Province around Doi Inthanon, Thailand's highest mountain at 2,565 metres above sea level (tourismthailand.org, checked 24 Sep 2026). The park's forest changes with altitude, from lowland rainforest to pine forest near the summit, and the air is markedly cooler than in Chiang Mai city.
