The story

What happens

The plan as the operator runs it. Start times and pickup are confirmed for your date.

1. Step 01 Pickup, before dawn

   A vehicle collects you from your Dubai hotel: shared with other guests, or private to your party, depending on the option. Your captain confirms the pickup time.

2. Step 02 The balloon flight

   After the pilot's briefing you board the basket and fly over the desert in the early morning, weather permitting. The flight length is confirmed on the operator's programme.

3. Step 03 The rest of the package

   Whatever the operator's Premium Adventure programme includes after the landing, confirmed in writing before you pay.

4. Step 04 Back to your hotel

   The vehicle takes you back to your hotel, about six hours after pickup by the operator.

Know before you go

• The operator does not name the operator, the take-off site, the pickup time, the flight length or what the Premium Adventure package includes. Your captain gets the operator's programme in writing before you pay; do not book until you have seen it.
• Balloon flights depend on the wind and weather on the morning, and the pilot can decide not to fly. Your captain tells you what the operator offers if the flight is called off.
• Season: one Dubai operator, Hero Balloon Flights, flies daily from 1 October to 31 May. Whether the operator's operator flies outside those months, your captain confirms.
• At that operator, no child under 7 can fly, pregnant guests cannot fly at any stage, and every guest must be able to get in and out of the basket safely, with the crew's help if needed. Your captain confirms the rules for the operator's operator.
• Plan for a pickup in the small hours. Wear flat shoes and bring a layer for the early desert morning.
• Private-transfer price: the operator does not say whether it is per person or per vehicle. It is shown per person until the operator confirms; your captain confirms in writing before you pay.
• The operator carries one rate per option and no child rate. Your captain asks the operator about child prices before you pay.
• Availability is confirmed by the operator only when your captain books. The operator can decline a booking if the price has changed or the basket is full, and you are told before you pay.
• Prices are per person in INR. GST and TCS on international bookings are shown in your written quote.
