The story

Dubai Crocodile Park is on Tripoli Street in Mushrif. By the park's own site it is home to about 250 Nile crocodiles, kept in a large landscaped habitat of lakes, waterfalls, islands and sandbanks that you look into from several viewpoints. There is an aquarium built around an African-lake theme where you see the crocodiles from below the waterline, a natural history museum on how crocodilians evolved and outlasted the dinosaurs, a savanna-style garden, a curio shop and places to eat.

What it feels like: most of the time the crocodiles do very little, and that is the point. Five-metre animals lie on the sandbanks with their mouths open in the sun, perfectly still, and then one slides into the water without a sound and every child at the viewpoint goes quiet. The aquarium is the part to linger in: through the glass you see how a crocodile moves underwater, slow and easy, just the other side of it. The museum is indoors, a break from the heat outside for grandparents while the children go round the lakes again.

Who this suits: the school-holiday family and the family with toddlers, because it is a walk among animals with no rides and no swimming; the multigenerational group, since the museum and aquarium are indoors and the pace is yours; and anyone in the wildlife cohort who wants more than a zoo's single enclosure. Friends groups and couples will find it a pleasant morning rather than the high point of the trip.

Know before you go

  • The park's own site says it was temporarily closed from 15 June to 14 September 2026. We could not open the site directly on 23 Sep 2026 (it refused our request), so your captain confirms with the operator that it has reopened and is open on your date before you pay.
  • Hours listed on the park's site: 10 am to 8 pm. Treat this as a guide; your captain confirms the hours for your date.
  • Feeding is the moment children hope for, but the park itself says crocodiles eat less in the cooler months and generally do not eat in the colder ones. From November to February, do not plan the visit around a feed.
  • Children: the park's own ticket bands are adult from 12, child from 3 to 11, and free under 3. The operator carries one rate per option; your captain asks the operator about child and infant rates before you pay.
  • Much of the park is outdoors. In October and from April onwards it is hot by late morning: arrive when it opens, wear a cap, carry water and use the indoor aquarium and museum as your shade.
  • The park's site does not describe its paths or step-free access. If anyone in your group uses a wheelchair or a pram, tell your captain, who asks the operator before you pay.
  • The operator gives 4 hours for the ticket-only option and 1 hour for the option with a private transfer. The shorter figure is almost certainly not the time you get inside; your captain confirms how long the vehicle waits.
  • Availability is confirmed by the operator only when your captain books. The operator can decline a booking if the price has changed or the date is sold out, and you are told before you pay.
  • Prices are per person in INR. GST and TCS are shown in your written quote.
