The story

Bir is a tiny Tibetan-colony town with a paragliding site rated among the best in the world hanging above it. You launch from Billing at 2,400 metres and ride thermals over tea gardens for twenty minutes that recalibrate your sense of scale.

The rest of the weekend is monastery bells, Korean-Tibetan cafés and a campfire under the landing zone.

Your journey outline

  1. The overnight bus to Bir, check in to the camp, and spend the first evening at the landing zone watching gliders come down, which is both the entertainment and a useful preview of tomorrow. Bir is a small Tibetan settlement with monasteries and cafes and not much else.

  2. Up to the Billing launch at 2,400 metres, fourteen kilometres of hairpins above the village. Flights go when the weather allows and are called each morning, which is not a formality. Twenty to thirty minutes airborne over tea gardens and a Himalayan ridge, landing back in the village.

  3. Sherab Ling monastery in the morning, which is quieter and grander than the ones in McLeod Ganj, then a cafe brunch and the bus home. Two nights in Asia's paragliding capital, with the flight itself lasting less than half an hour and taking up most of the conversation afterwards.

If we ever have to cancel your trip ourselves, you choose a full refund or a free date change.

Refund policy

Full refund if you cancel within 48 hours of booking and 30+ days before departure.

Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7 working days of approval.

Cancellation policy

30+ days before departure: lose only the deposit.

15–29 days: 50% of the package cost.

7–14 days: 75% of the package cost.

Under 7 days or no-show: no refund.

One free date-change to a later departure is allowed up to 15 days out.
