The story

Dubai has two airports: Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International, also called Dubai World Central (DWC), which Dubai Airports calls Dubai's second airport and which handles seasonal charter and scheduled flights as well as cargo. From DWC, public transport into the city is by bus (the F55 to the EXPO metro station and the N55 to Ibn Battuta, each every 30 minutes by the airport's own page) or by taxi. This transfer replaces that with a private vehicle between DWC and your Dubai hotel, on arrival or for your flight home.

What it feels like: you walk out of arrivals with your bags and your voucher, find your driver, and the ride to the hotel passes without anyone having to work out a bus route or a taxi queue with luggage and children. On the way home, the vehicle collects you at the hotel at the time your captain sets, so the early start is the only thing to think about.

Who this suits: the school-holiday family and the multigenerational group whose flight uses DWC, because a private vehicle booked for your group and bags matters most on an airport run with grandparents and children; seniors travelling on their own; and any traveller landing late with a lot of luggage.

How the transfer works

Your pickup time and meeting point are confirmed for your date.

  1. Send your captain your flight number, arrival or departure time, hotel name, number of travellers and number of bags. The captain confirms the vehicle and the price basis with the operator and shares the voucher with the meeting instructions.

  2. Clear immigration, collect your luggage and follow the voucher to your driver, who takes your group to your Dubai hotel.

  3. The driver collects your group from your Dubai hotel at the time on your voucher and drives you to Al Maktoum International Airport.
